ASUS reveals their ROG Swift Pro PG248QP - The world's fastest gaming monitor

ASUS' ROG Swift Pro PG248QP is the world first 540Hz gaming monitor

At CES 2023, ASUS has revealed their ROG Swift PRO PG248QP gaming monitor, a monitor that claims to be the world's fastest. With its 540Hz refresh rate Esports TN (E-TN) panel and G-Sync processor, ASUS has claimed that this monitor can deliver  "smoother" and "clearer gameplay than ever", by running nine times faster than standard 60Hz monitors.

ASUS ROG Swift PRO PG248QP is a 24-inch Hull HD (1080p) gaming monitor that that is designed for extreme gaming, with ASUS claiming that this monitor's ESS codec support can even decrease audio latency though an onboard quad-DAC. Gamers can even access system latency using Nvidia's Reflex Analyser, allowing gamers to see how responsive their systems are.

With a maximum refresh rate of 540Hz, ASUS' ROG Swift PRO PG248QP is designed for gamers with the fastest systems. This screen is designed for extreme gamers who demand the fastest monitors and the fastest hardware. As such, gamers can expect this new monitor to be expensive. That said, ASUS has not officially revealed the pricing of this extreme-grade gaming monitor.

Another feature of ASUS' ROG Swift PRO PG248QP monitor is its adjustable stand, which allows PC gamers to adjust this screen's on-desk footprint.

For most gamers, we would recommend investing in a lower refresh rate monitor that offers a higher screen resolution and a screen panel type that focuses more on quality than speed. The ASUS ROG Swift PRO PG248QP is designed for gamers who demand the fastest monitor to give themselves the largest possible competitive edge. If you are not such an extreme gamer, you will likely be better off getting an OLED gaming monitor that can deliver a high quality HDR experience and higher quality imagery. Ultimately, whether or not this screen is for you depends on your priorities, and your budget.
