Looking at the ASUS X99 Deluxe-II we can see that there have been a lot of design changes, from the minor aesthetic changes that make it look a lot more like ASUS' Z170 Deluxe series motherboards and a selection of upgraded features.

We can see that the 4 16x PCIe 3.0 slots have been upgraded to ASUS' more rigid Safeguard PCIe slots, and that there is an additional U.2 connection for NVMe SSDs. We can also see that there is an ASUS Aura RGB header at the base of the motherboard, which will allow you t control a strip of RGB LEDs inside your case.

Combining a white motherboard with a set of RGB LEDs sounds like a great idea, especially when combined with white memory at the colour of your RGB LEDs will be reflected off your motherboard, making it appear as the colour you desire.

Moving down to the ASUS X99-A II we see a huge reduction in price of $130 when compared to the pricing of the X99-Deluxe II, taking away features like Dual Gigabit Intel Ethernet, two of the motherboards USB 3.1 ports, removing the integrated Wireless and Bluetooth and removing one of the motherboards U.2 connections.

This motherboard is feature rich when compared to most existing X99 motherboards, including RGB LED strip compatibility and support for both M.2 and U.2 NVMe SSDs.

The X99-E is ASUS' new entry level X99 motherboard, offering everything that most users will require from X99, but lacks a lot of the benefits that the other motherboards provide.

This motherboard lacks the white shroud over the rear IO and lacks any U.2 SSD support and RGB header support, but the motherboard still has 3x PCIe Gen 3 16x lanes and offers a great deal of functionality for the price.

No Rampage V Extreme Black Edition? No X99-E WS II?
That is a big disappointment. The only viable board here seems to be the X99-Deluxe II.
