ASUS 3D Printing Project - The Potential of 3D Printing
One undeniable part of the ASUS ROG brand has always been the modding scene, with enthusiasts customising their high-end hardware to create not only PCs that look great but also are completely unique to their own builder.
ROG related PC mods have become so popular that now ASUS has their own ROG certified cases and memory from other manufacturers, but ASUS didn't think that their support for the ROG brand needed to end there.
In the past PC modding was limited to what you could fabricate yourself, but with 3D printing this limitation is now almost entirely governed by your imagination, allowing custom parts to the made with ease and ideas to very quickly become a part of reality.
At Computex ASUS has been showing off their support for 3D printing, with their new motherboards sporting some users swappable parts that can easily be replaced with your own 3D printed variants, providing almost limitless customization options.
What ASUS had on show was several custom ROG plates and personalised name plates, alongside more complex mods like full cover RAM shrouds and even full heatsink shrouds.
ASUS has promised the ROG community that they will be providing 3D source files for all the custom parts shown at Computex, and has even created a dedicated 3D Printing Sub-Forum that will be dedicated to 3D Printing/modding.
