Battlefield 1 has sold more in week 1 than Battlefield 4 and Hardline combined

Battlefield 1 has sold more in week 1 than Battlefield 4 and Hardline combined in the UK, making this the most popular release in the series to date, at least when it comes to physical copies.

So far Battlefield 1 has reviewed well, with the WWI setting marking a nice change for gamers, who have gotten sick of the modern warfare settings of recent AAA shooters. Right now the PC version of the game has been well received, performing well on both AMD and Nvidia hardware as well as delivering respectable performance on older hardware.

Battlefield 1 has sold more in week 1 than Battlefield 4 and Hardline combined

Right now the website bfstats.com lists the current online playerbase of Battlefield 1 at around 310,000 on PS4 and Xbox One combined, which easily dwarfs that of both Battlefield Hardline and Battlefield 4, which are estimated to have around 34,000 current players. At this time it is unknown how accurate this data is, but it does show that Battlefield 1 has had a very successful launch, though it remains to be seen if the game will withstand the test of time.

I have to say. So far I am pretty impressed and I went in quite skeptical considering the disappointment that was Hardline.

It genuinely does feel fresh and me and my brother had a blast playing some of the multiplayer together last nightQuote

Not to me it hasn't. I still have MEC and Mafia 3 and Quantum break to play through. Modding, eats all of your gaming time !Quote

It's definitely a come back from bf4, we don't talk about hardline...

it's a little bit.. laney, but it's forgivable because the maps work like they used to in bf2 for the most part, i.e. combat areas are more isolated from each other by terrain/fog. Where as bf3/4 it was all about you can see almost everywhere on a map at any time.

There are of course exceptions to that rule, but for the most part the fights are fairly isolated.

64 player servers are still complete chaos and have far too many/frequent vehicles.

40 player seems to be the sweet spot for the map sizes.

Just get the base game for now, no need to purchase the all-in 100 quid edition yet.Quote
