Battlefield 1's Beta supports DirectX 12 on PC

We have been given the opportunity to give Battlefield 1's Open Beta an early look before it officially releases tomorrow, giving us the opportunity to show you the PC graphical options menu of the PC beta version confirm that the Battlefield 1 Open Beta supports DirectX 12 on PC.

The game has a large variety of graphical options, containing separate FOV sliders for On-Foot and In-Vehicle combat as well as options to apply your FOV options when aiming down your weapons sights and even a large variety of colour blind options.

Moving onto the games advanced graphical options (pictured below) we can see that the game supports DirectX 12 on PC, which Dice say can give some players significantly better performance but admits that it is currently more buggy than the DirectX 11 version and is still under active development.

The open beta will have Low, Medium, High and Ultra options for texture quality, texture filtering, lighting quality, effects quality, post-process quality, mesh quality, terrain quality and undergrowth quality. Below this the game also has options for FXAA and TAA as well as SSAO and HBAO. At this time there are no graphical options for MSAA.

Please remember that these options may not be representative of the final game, but at least for now they will offer PC gamers with a large variety of tweaking options while the Open Beta is active.

Got my code this morning. I set it downloading before I left for work so that'll be ready for a session tonight.

Of course Nuka World just came out for Fallout 4 so I want to reinstall that and mod it ready for my first proper Survival run too (haven't played since Far Harbor released); too many things and not enough time!Quote

just played 40 mins worth which for me is something extrodinary as i had boycotted ea for years..
Still with every other company being just as bad now i went back..

i must say i enjoyed the 40 mins. Frame rates were great. only gliitched in to 1 or 2 things "expected at this stage i guess" Found it pretty difficult which suprised me as i used to be in a competitive fps team, although i guess that would be about 10 years ago now and i havent really been playing fps.

Still really enjoyed what i played. didnt get to experience much of the building destruction stuff theres quite a lot going on and your a bit busy for that sort of stuff..

Any hoo i enjoyed it. possibly because i havent played a fps in years and i used to love them.
I have stuff to do today but il be going back on there later no doubt.
i will need more play time to give a definitive verdict but im verging on "good game go buy it" kind of verdict after 40 mins.Quote
