Battlefield 4 players will soon get Free Legacy Map DLC

Battlefield 4 players will soon be getting Free Legacy Map DLC in time for the holidays, adding a remade version of Battlefield 2’s Dragon Valley map to the game.

Tis DLC will be free to all owners of Battlefield 4 on current generation consoles or PC, so sadly players on the PS3 and the Xbox One will not get to benefit from this new map.

Last year, we asked the Battlefield community which classic map you wanted to be added to Battlefield 4, and your answers pointed us in one direction: Dragon Valley. Now, this map is being re-imagined as Dragon Valley 2015, for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC with the Legacy Operations DLC, free  for Battlefield 4!

When compared to the original version of the may there is an increased draw distance, increased verticality in it’s design and has a dynamic cloud layer which will allow more complex aerial combat. The map is also available to play in the games Rush mode, which was a mode that didn’t exist on the original.

It is great to see a developer work on a game two years after release, especially since it already has a sequel in the form of Battlefield Hardline. Seeing this DLC being offered for free is a great thing to see for a game of this age, but in reality I question how many people who still play battlefield 4 haven’t purchased Battlefield Premium, so the majority of current players would have got it free anyway.
