Call of Duty: Black Ops III Multiplayer Only Starter Pack Hits Steam

A Multiplayer only version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has just been released on Steam for £11.59/$14.99. This pack will be available on the PC only and will be available until February 29th.

This new version of Call of Duty will include the Multiplayer of the game only, but will offer a limited version of it where you cannot prestige, access the games Zombies mode, the Single Player campaign or unranked server and will not allow you to use the games mod tools or modded content.

Below is a list of the locked content for the game.

The following content is not available: Zombies game mode, Campaign game mode, ability to play in custom games, ability to Prestige, access to Mod Tools (once released), access to modded content (once released), access to unranked server browser (once released), the ability to fresh start your profile, Dead Ops Arcade II, and Nightmares mode. To gain access to this content, you can upgrade to the full game.

This looks like a experimental release from Activation, only releasing this bundle on PC for a very limited time (the next two weeks). The price of this mode is very price competitive with popular PC shooters like Counter Strike and could help Black Ops 3 gain a larger player base on PC, where there is a great deal of competition on the online shooter market when compared to consoles.

If this move proved successful for Activision we may consider releasing this version of the game for a longer period of time or making this an option when future Call of Duty games are released on PC.

If they sold Zombies separately I'd just buy that. Hardly play the rest of the game.Quote

I don't mind this tbf, seems like a good deal if you just want to occasionally play this game with a group of friends. Seems affordable for most.Quote

That's not a bad deal tbh, now what about a campaign only mode for the same price? Quote

Ya I agree there.. but then I honestly think that people would wait till that zombie only part came out separately then would buy that over the base game. I know I would as that's the only thing my friends use cod for(everything else is just boring).Quote
