Cities: Skylines devs commit to mod support

Cities: Skylines devs, Paradox Interactive, have given their commitment to modding support, giving players mod tools and guides from day one. Take that SimCity.

The game will launch on March 10th on PC, Mac and Linux, for the pre-order price of  pre-order for £22.99 on Steam, or £29.99 for the Deluxe Edition on Steam.

It doesn't take much to make a City builder look good to the disaster that was EA's SimCity, do you guys want offline support, modding tools and the ability to make suitably large cities? Cities: Skylines will give players all these things, which will please a lot of people.

"You will be free to create your own individual vision of your perfect city, bringing your own ideas into the game and ultimately blurring the line between playing and creating."

For any of you guys that are interested in learning more about modding Cities: Skylines, there is good overview on the game's WIKI here.

Cities: Skylines Release Date and System Specs Released.

For any of those interested in the game's system requirements, I have included them below.

Minimum:

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo, 3.0GHz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+, 3.2GHz,
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Graphics Card: nVIDIA GeForce GTX 260, 512 MB / ATI Radeon HD 5670, 512 MB

Recommended:

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7/8/8.1 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3470, 3.20GHz / AMD FX-6300, 3.5Ghz
  • RAM: 6GB
  • Graphics Card: nVIDIA GeForce GTX 660, 2 GB / AMD Radeon HD 7870, 2 GB

These specs seem very reasonable for the game, let's hope that the game will be relatively bug free too.

All ready pre-ordered this, they are open with what you get at launch there will be no tunnels to start but they will arrive soon after, the developers are the same who made cities in motion which is great the publishers are paradox who make EU 4. I hope they take the paradox way of DLC most of it is eye candy you can take or leave and only a few game changing dlc's.
They have already mentioned that though officially you can only build a city in 9x2kmx2km squares it's not hard for modders to make the whole area buildableQuote

Saw some videos of people playing on the youtubes, it looks really nice. I think the DoF is actually quite effective rather than just annoying.Quote
