With AMD’s new Radeon Software Crimson Driver they have added support for DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapters, which support 4K 60Hz output to modern HDMI 2.0 televisions and monitors.

Club3D, a popular AMD GPU and adaptor vendor has now announced that they will be making DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapters for use with AMD GPUs. Right now Club3D have not announced pricing or availability for these adapters.

When AMD launched their R9 Fury Series of GPU many were disappointed that they lacked an HDMI 2.0 port, as this would prevent them from using the GPU with 4K TVs that only use a HDMI 2.0 connection, so the support and availability of these adapters will really help AMD fill this support gap, as right now Nvidia GPUs ship with HDMI 2.0 ports.
