Custom CryEngine Environments look Phenomenal

Ever since the Original Crysis was released in 2007, CryEngine has always been associated with the ability to produce stunning visuals.

Today I have a visual treat for you, made using the CryEngine by environmental artist Joakim Stigsson (insert Top Gear Joke here) who has worked on titles such as Crysis 3 and  Homefront 2. This environment is simply called Mountain Lodge and was captured in realtime in CryEngine.

Videos of the environment during day and night can be found below and it looks fantastic.

For those interested in a 60FPS Video they can be downloaded from the devs dropbox, a link for which can be found on youtube.

There is no doubt that the visuals shown here are phenomenal, especially given that it was captured in realtime. Perhaps this environment could be made into a benchmark utility for CryEngine?

Congratulations are in order for Joakim Stigsson for creating such a beautiful environment, it has certainly impressed me and no doubt many of you.

While those videos are stunning, I personally think that the architectural demos from UE4 have a leading edge over CryEngine:

Well Cryengine 3 is older than UE4. So ya it probably would have an edge... even then it's hard to compare these videos to see which is better because the environment is different.Quote
