Dark Souls 3 gameplay reveal trailer

Get ready to praise the incandescent sun: fresh Dark Souls 3 gameplay was shown during the Microsoft Gamescom press conference, and it looks amazing. The trailer starts off with the Darksign and the female narrator we’re all too familiar with, stating the following:

“Yes, indeed. As they say on pilgrimage: ‘The fire fades, and the lords go without thrones.’”

Dark Souls 3 seems to take some inspiration from PS4-exclusive Bloodborne, From Software’s latest game. The land in which Dark Souls 3 takes place is in ruin, and the gameplay seems more agile and smooth than in previous Souls games too. Fear not, though, it looks like Dark Souls 3 is still very much Dark Souls, with backstabs, a load of dodging and the all-important shield.

The trailers shows bosses too, and they’re massive. A Fire-breathing dragon, a gigantic skull and a scary, crawling beast I can’t quite explain are a few of the bosses shown in the trailer.

Dark Souls launches early 2016 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Are you ready to praise the sun once more?

That's why I'm scared. Dark Souls 2 brought some very good improvements that look like missing in DS3. For example, the instant backstab in DS1 is just wrong, while the one in DS2 ( requiring to hit before backstabbing ) is much better, since it helps preventing lagstabs and actually makes more sense in a realistic way.

Dark Souls ( 1 ) backstabs were like :

You:" Hey I'm behind you! "
Opponent: " Ok sir, I'm going to stay still while you backstab me during this animation "

But it often looked like

Y:" Hey, I'm behind you! "
O:" Ok sir, now I'm actually going to backstab you because lag "Quote

While you are right about backstabbing, I personally haven't been able to finish DS2, but I've finished DS1 about 4-5 times.
I can't really put my finger on what does DS2 miss but I just can't get myself to complete it.Quote
