Dell announces 1080p SE2717H IPS FreeSync monitor

Dell has announced their new SE2717H 1080p IPS monitor which features a FreeSync range of 48-75Hz, making this monitor much more gaming-friendly than your average 1080p display.

This display will come with HDMI 1.4a and VGA outputs, with the HDMI input supporting VESA Adaptive Sync/FreeSync. The addition of FreeSync gives this display a lot more versatility than standard 60Hz displays, with a FreeSync range of 48-75Hz and a max refresh rate of 75Hz.

In the US this display is priced at $250, with a 6ms grey-to-grey response time and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. This display does not have a VESA compatible mounting system and at this time we have no official word on UK pricing.

While a lot of people will scoff at this monitor's 48-75Hz FreeSync range, it will offer gamers with a significant smoothness improvement in games when compared to a standard 60Hz monitor.

I though people were going away from 1080p now, so why release a 1080p screen?? I have 1080p 144hz and I want to move to 21;9 2k+ free sync - but its 60hz

I am scared that I will feel those 60hz........ even though I mostly play strategy games and 80% Warthunder.Quote

I am more than happy at 1080p @60hz and i dont have freesync but this monitor looks pretty nice. There must be loads of us 1080p gamers out there still especially when looking at the steam stats 1080p is the biggest footfal for single screen use for JulyQuote
