Dell reveals their 40-inch 5K IPS U4021QW Monitor

Dell has just revealed its latest UltraSharp monitor, a 39.7-inch curved IPS monitor which features a 5120x2160 (5K2K) resolution and a 2500R curvature. With its size and resolution, Dell has designed this monitor for productivity, offering users a higher than 4K resolution and high image quality levels.

With a 5K2K resolution, this screen should be considered the 4K variant of ultrawide resolutions like 2560x1080. It's a 4K screen with an extra bit of width and a 60Hz refresh rate. This screen is designed for creatives who need this much screen real estate, not for gamers.

Dell markets this screen as having a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness and 178/178-degree viewing angles. The screen features 98% DCI-P3 coverage and comes factory calibrated with a dE value of

Dell plans to release this professional-grade monitor for $2,100, offering inputs for Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0 and more. The monitor also features a KVM switch with Gigabit LAN, four USB ports and audio connections.  For connectivity, the U4021QW features a single USB Type-C port (with 15W power delivery), one Thunderbolt 3 connection (with 90W power delivery and DP Alt Mode), DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0 and 4x USB ports.

Like many of Dell's other recent UltraSharp monitors, this screen supports Picture in Picture (PiP) and Picture by Picture (PbP) modes so that users can utilise multiple devices on the screen at once.
