Dell's 32" 8K monitor is now available for $5000

Dell's 32" 8K monitor is now available for an eye-watering price of $5000, coming with a 60Hz refresh rate and support for a wide colour Gamut. This display is designed for professional use and does not support FreeSync or G-Sync.

This display is called the Ultrasharp UP3218K, coming with a 1,300:1 contrast ratio, 400 nits brightness and a 6ms grey-grey response time.

To say the least, this display would require an insane GPU setup for gaming, offering 4x the pixel count of a standard 4K display, with 16x the resolution of 1080p. The UP3218K offers support of a wide range of colour standards, with 100x sRGB, 100% Adobe RGB, 100% Rec. 709 and 98% of DCI-P3, making this display ideal for professional colour use.

This display will also support tilt and rotate on this display's VESA-compatible stand, making this display ideal fo multi-monitor configurations if required.

This display offers 2x DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, allowing this display to support 8K 60FPS with a single input (DP 1.4 offers 4x the bandwidth of DP 1.2).

6ms response time on an 8k monitor is actually pretty good if I am honest.
Wonder what the input lag would be though since it needs 2xDP cables to run.Quote

It only needs one, as DP 1.4 offers 4x the bandwidth of DP 1.2.

DP 1.2 is enough for 4K 60Hz, so DP 1.4 is enough for 8K 60Hz.Quote
