Resolution and framerate are very important factors for many gamers, especially on the PC where these options are user customizable. With Star Wars Battlefront's beta currently underway many gamers are wondering is the game is running at it's final framerate and resolution, wondering which of the two console have came out on top in terms of visual fidelity.

Speaking on Twitter DICE's Johan Andersson had stated that the studio had placed visual fidelity and framerate above resolution, sacrificing a 1080p resolution on both consoles in order to make a game which was both visually intense and was displayed at a constant 60FPS framerate.

The PS4 version of the game has been confirmed to run at a resolution of 900p, with the Xbox one being confirmed to run at a very disappointing 720p, giving this version more noticeable aliasing and a general downgrade in visual quality.

Doesn't surprise me, It's going to get more problematic for devs in the next 2 years or so as graphics get better and the consoles are going to struggle to even get 30FPS at 720P.Quote

And this is why PC gaming has made a major comeback, both "next gen" consoles were made with hardware that was readily available and slow in comparison to where they should have been.Quote

Would have been good if they went with fully custom like the 7th gen as they really were powerhouses at the time even compared to a decent rig.Quote
