DirectX 12 will give a 30-40% boost to Project Cars on PC says Ian Bell, the Studio head of Slightly Mad games. At first many thought that he meant that there would be a 40% boost in performance for the Xbox One console, but he later clarified that the console should get roughly a 7% boost in performance thanks to the new API.

As many of you are aware, Project Cars can have some very huge performance hits form time to time and the studio now says that they are focusing on these optimization issues.

Project Cars will benefit greatly from the CPU utilization improvements present in DirectX 12, with the lead developer saying that those with lower end Quad core CPUs will see the greatest increase in performance.

This is great news for those who use lower end configs, as now their lower end hardware will no longer be the issue.

Project Cars is no doubt a beautiful racing game, but when it is patched to DirectX 12 those visuals will definitely be seeing a much wider audience than before.

Not only that but maybe the Intel 8 cores and 6 cores from the X range might actually have a real gaming use and not just a benchmarking use.Quote
