DOOM Announcement and Gameplay E3

DOOM has been announced at Bethesda's E3 press conference, bringing the franchise which was the genesis of the FPS genre bang up to date.

The game will feature full single player, multiplayer and co-op modes, support for id software's Snapmap game building tools and will run at 1080p 60FPS on both next generation consoles on the Id Tech 6 (666) Engine.

The game is a real return to FPS games of old, with a full weapons wheel, no cover system and all of the classic DOOM creatures and weapons that fans of the series will recognize immediately.

The game will feature id tech's Snapmap, which is a toolset which will allow users to create user maps, single play, co-op and multiplayer modes. This feature is available on all platforms, giving console players a little taste of player made/ modded content.

As you can see in these trailers, the game is not the most beautiful game to ever grace PC and next generation consoles, but it will play smoothly at 1080p 60FPS on both consoles, which is a must for this fast paced multiplayer shooter.
