EK Show off their GTX 1080 water block

EK has shown off their upcoming GTX 1080 water block, which they call the best cooling solution to allow Nvidia users to achieve the best turbo clock speeds.

What we can see here is that the EK GTX 1080 water block design is very similar to their existing water block designs, offering cooling to all important locations on the GPU, from the memory to the power delivery systems and most importantly the GPU core itself.

7.2 billion transistors, 2560 shader units, 64 ROP units chip card deserves only the best cooling solution which allows it to sustain full turbo boost speeds. Meet the next gen.

At this time we do not know when EK's GTX 1080 water block will be available for sale, but we expect to see it shipping to end users within the next few weeks.

How long will they keep the old blocks in production for? I have 980s and want to watercool some time this year but not sure if I should buy the blocks now even though I won't get a radiator and pump for a while yet. Not planning on upgrading my GPUs for a year or two minimum.

Probably for the entire lifespan of Pascal. You can still get blocks for 780 series, unless of course they took them out of assembly recently (I haven't checked).Quote
