Fallout 4's season pass has been detailed, coming in at $30 for a similar amount of DLC that Fallout 3 had, which was 5 add-ons.

In UK prices the Season Pass should cost around £25, which represents great value if Fallout 4 get's as much DLC content as we are used too from Fallout games.

We’ve always done a lot of DLC for our games. We love making them and you always ask us for more. To reward our most loyal fans, this time we’ll be offering a Season Pass that will get you all of the Fallout 4 DLC we ever do for just $30.

Bethesda have said that they "know that it will be worth at least $40", though they will not go into any details as they say that it will spoil some story elements of the DLC and the base game.

Bethesda have also said that they will be providing free DLC/updates for the game which will add new features to the game based on player feedback and fix any issues that players may have with the game at launch. Bethesda say that they will "We'll work with all of you to figure out what new things you'd love to see added to Fallout 4,".

Fallout 4, like it's predecessor, will also support modding with Bethesda's Creation Kit which will be released in late 2015 or early 2016. This will allow fans of the game to create and customize Fallout 4 as they see fit, hopefully providing players with as much additional gameplay that modders have brought to previous games like Skyrim and Fallout 3.

As always with Season Pass content we do not recommend that you purchase it until you have information on exactly what the DLC for the game will be and when it is coming, as in the past many gamers have had to suffer exceptionally long waits for any worthwhile DLC. A big example here is Bioshock Infinite, where players had to wait several months before knowing when or what the games DLC would be after the game's initial release, leaving Season Pass purchasers very annoyed.

Fallout 4 has very quickly became the most popular game on Steam, receiving great reviews unanimously and already taking up almost 10 hours of this writers time.

Why do you find that funny? That's the entire point of season passes. They exist solely to decrease the risk of doing business by making people pay in advance for something they might not even like when they get it. It's the same reason pre-orders exist. None of that stuff exists to serve the user. It serves the developers and publishers.Quote

It's funny because they haven't told you what you are buying. You are handing them money and not knowing what you are getting in return. For all you know it could just be weapon packs and skins, don't think anyone would have wanted to spend the amount they are asking for when it's simple weapons and skins.. mods can do all that. Obviously yes that is why they and preorders exist.. that's common sense, I wasn't debating the business side of it. Was just stating it's funny that they are talking about DLC and not disclosing it's content but still asking people for money in the form of a season pass. Kinda of shady imo. Wouldn't mind it if they told you what at the very least you would be getting, kinda how CDPR did with there season pass for the Witcher 3. You knew what the content was and could make a better informed decision way way in advance of them even coming out.Quote

Don't you save money with a season pass as opposed to buying DLC separately? It's the risk you take for a better deal.Quote
