Fallout 4 Looks Great!

Fallout 4's Resolution and Framerate will not be Limited on PC

Overreaction is common on the internet, where every little comment can be misconstrued to mean exactly what a writer thinks and this has been very true with Fallout 4.

Digital Spy published an article a few days ago titles "Fallout 4 will run at 1080p and 30 frames-per-second on everything", alleging that the PC version will be limited to playing at 1080p and with a 30 FPS lock, which was bone in order to give the console games the same experience as PC.

Here is the quote which caused all of this commotion, from Fallout 4's lead developer Todd Howard;

"It is 1080p on everything," "before confirming that it would run at 30fps and not 60fps."

Bethesda has a massive PC audience, with the Elder Scrolls Skyrim still selling well to this day, which is impressive for a game from 2011. Bethesda have since confirmed that the "Resolution and FPS are not limited in any way on the PC" and that the comments regarding framerate and resolution only applied to the console versions of the game.

This has not been the first time Fallout 4 has had such allegations thrown it's way, with users claiming that Fallout 4 would be a locked down title compared to it's predecessors.

Back when Fallout 4 was merely a rumor, many sites reported that the game would not include player made/ customizable characters back when rumors first shown up that Bethesda was looking for a male voice actor to voice their lead character. Many sites reported that the game would place you in the shoes of a Bethesda designed character, eliminating player customization and the ability to play as a woman in the game when the first trailer for the game was shown, when you heard the players character speak in a male voice.

When the game was officially revealed we learned that the player will indeed be voice acted, but that this in no way limited player customization, again the gaming press overreacted and over speculated with limited to no information.

The lesson to be learned here is this, not to trust rumors and not to take the information you are given at face value until proven otherwise.

Tbf if they said "everything" then everything means everything so people had every right to get angry/panic. They should of made it clearer from the start...Quote

I refuse to buy games that lock framerate and resolution. Why do I have a high end PC? Idiot devs. Why must I lower my expectations? So that plebs who can only afford a $350 console won't be jealous? Screw that.Quote

What!? Very narrow minded view you have there. If you've joined the OC3D forums to hail "PC Master Race", look at the size of my EPeen! Fanboy-isms, all console owners are peasants and Devs are dumb.

You are sorely mistaken and on the wrong forums, raging uneducated generalizations are misplaced here.

Bethesda have done them self proud here, they respect the PC gaming communities and Modding groups who make their titles all the more appealing and by not limiting FPS shows faith in the engine and serves as a great boost for PC gaming overall, and also sends a message to other devs to follow suit.Quote
