Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age remaster announced for PS4

An HD remaster for Final Fantasy 12 has been announced for PS4, though a PC version is likely if you look at recent trends.

Recently Final Fantasy 13 XIII-2 and Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster have been released on PC, alongside remastered versions of older Final Fantasy titles, making a PC version of this new remaster very likely.

Below is a trailer for the Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age remaster, showcasing updated visuals, textures, and models alongside HD cutscenes.

The Zodiac Age will be a high definition remaster of the Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System, which upgrades the original game with some reconstructed game design, leveling, and skill progression. Below is a list of additional upgrades that the new HD remake will feature.

Visual Improvements

  • - High-resolution upgrades for backgrounds, character models, and all 2D parts including fonts
  • - High-resolution upgrades for movie scenes
  • - Introduction of current generation visual expression

Sound Improvements

  • - 7.1ch surround support
  • - High-quality voice support
  • - English and Japanese voices (switch between them in the game configuration)
  • - Original and newly re-recorded BGMs (switch between them in the game configuration)

Usability Improvements

  • - Shorter load times
  • - Auto-save functionality added
  • - Improved high-speed mode and improved play time operability during high-speed mode

The game will release on the PS4 sometime in 2017, though a PC version is likely to come later.

I have the same dilemma. I am going to preorder the game on PS4 and hope that they announce a PC version. My mate played the original on a Jap PS2 non stop when it came out. He loved the zodiac system. I think it will def be worth itQuote

Guess it depends on price. If they charge the normal console prices I won't get it.Quote
