Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns Targets December PC Release

Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns is coming to PC and targets December 2015 release, this will mean that the whole Final Fantasy XIII series will be available for PC, which is a great thing for Final Fantasy fans.

Lightning Returns was originally planned for an Autumn release on PC, but a recent announcement from producer Yoshinori Kitase has said that the game will come at a later date than expected. This quote was originally in Japanese, but it has been translated into English by SiliconEra.

Producer Kitase speaking. This is a development status report on the Windows PC version of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. We are currently finishing up the last parts, so it’ll be just a little longer until it is complete. At this rate, it looks like it’ll release sometime in December.

We apologize for making you wait longer, as we previously said that it will release sometime in fall. We’ll have an announcement once more details are available.

The previous ports for Final Fantasy XIII games on PS have been so far less than stellar, with both of them being locked to 720p 60FPS at launch were generally considered as very buggy releases until several patches were implemented. Now both games are no longer locked to 720p, so gamers can now enjoy the game at resolutions which are above it’s console counterparts.

Hopefully Lightning Returns will have a better port than other Final Fantasy titles on PC, but right now that remains to be seen.
