We already know that Gears of War 4 will be a demanding title, with the Coalition, the game's developer stating that the game's Insane settings are simply beyond the capabilities of modern hardware at high resolutions.

Today Nvidia has revealed that the game will feature a built-in benchmarking mode and showcased some of their own benchmarking results, showing that even Nvidia's flagship Titan X Pascal cannot even run the game at 4K 30FPS or a steady 1440p 60+FPS at max settings.

Below is some of Nvidia's results for their current generation of GPU when playing at Ultra and Insane graphical settings, showing anything above a GTX 970 achieve a 60+FPS average at ultra settings at 1080p and everything over a GTX 1070 achieves a 60+ FPS average at 1440p Ultra settings.

Move things up to insane and gamers will need a GTX 1070 for and average 60FPS at 1080p and a minimum of a GTX Titan X Pascal for average framerates of 60FPS at 1440p.

Right now it looks like Gears of War 4 will be a game that will bring modern systems to their knees at the highest settings. Hopefully high and Ultra settings will not produce a huge decrease in visual quality, as it looks like most PC gamers will be waiting for a few GPU generations before most gamers can play Gears of War 4 comfortably at max settings.
