Gears of War Community Team Tells Fans not to worry about the PC version

Ever since the PC version of Gear of War: Ultimate Edition was announced we have been continuously searching for more information from the developers, but sadly none has never really came.

Now, several months after the Xbox One version of the game was launched gamers which have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the PC version have started to get concerned, with one particular fan bye the name of II3uckII3alla had posted this statement.

Myself, along with many other forum members and long term Gears fans have growing concerns of the lack of any information in the last five months. Some are being patient but many are getting beyond antsy and trust is being lost on the PC front. This is a request for a response from The Coalition.
Could we get an update at all. Minimum requirements, a proper forum section, a release timeframe (still 2015?), and many other questions are still in the air.

The statement said that he and other PC gamers are concerned with the lack of information regarding the PC version of the game, asking if the game will ever be released on PC. He said that an update for the PC version, perhaps listing the games minimum requirements would help gain some good faith with PC gamers and fans of the series on PC.

In response to this post the director of community had said this, saying that no information for the game is ready to share at this time, but that the performance, polish and the gameplay experience are the developers top priorities on PC and that additional information is coming.

We do not have any news to share at this time for the PC version. I know some are worried but please don’t fret. We are wanting to make sure polish and performance are prioritized on the PC version so that you all have a great experience.” He continued “Once we have additional information, I can tell say you will be the first to know. I’m pretty stoked for the PC version myself as I am an avid PC gamer 🙂

Gears of War Community Team Tells Fans not to worry about the PC version

Being one of the first DirectX 12 games and one of the first Xbox One titles getting ported to PC this game simply cannot be released in a buggy state like Batman: Arkham Knight or Assassin’s Creed Unity, as it  will harm Microsoft’s reputation for both their Published games and for their DirectX 12 API.

With no known release date or any other information being currently available the public will never know if the game is delayed or has any issues during the games development. It is likely that The Coalition, the games developers, are only planning to release further information on the PC version of the game closer to release, as they wish to avoid any of the issues which are associated with an over-hyped, over scrutinized game launch.

Right now all that we know about the PC version of the game will include an Unlocked framerate, support DX12 Asynchronous compute, contain a built in benchmark and also sport the following features;

  • – Remastered for Dolby 7.1 Surround
  • – New Xbox Live achievements (1,250 Gamerscore)
  • – Concept art gallery and unlockable comics
  • – Modernized Multiplayer featuring:
  • – Dedicated servers
  • – Skill-based matchmaking
  • – New game types – Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill (Gears of War 3 style), and new 2v2 Gnasher Execution
  • – Total of 19 maps, including all DLC maps
  • – 17 unlockable Gears of War 3 characters for Multiplayer progression
  • – More Match customization including Actives, Respawn Time, Self-revive and Weapon Respawn
  • – Modernized gameplay with smoother movement and updated controls:
  • – Alternate Controls and all new Tournament Controls
  • – Adding the Gears of War 3 features you love: Enemy Spotting, Multiplayer Tac-Com, Improved sensitivity customization
