Gigabyte has a massive new gaming monitor for the latest PCs and consoles
Gigabyte has a new large format gaming monitor, an HDMI 2.1 compatible screen that supports 4K resolutions at up to 120Hz with VRR and a massive 55-inch screen size. This monitor is the S55U, a Matte Quantum Dot VA monitor that can deliver peak brightness levels of 1500 nits and features 132 total local dimming zones.
Out of the box, this monitor features two HDMI 2.1 ports and two HDMI 2.0 ports, and integrated into this monitor is an Android TV system that features Google Assistant and Chromecast support, with hands-free voice control capabilities. This monitor is FreeSync Premium Pro compatible, supports Variable Refresh Rates (VRR) and HDMI 2.1's Auto Low Latency mode. This screen also features a digital auto out, a LAN connection for internet connectivity, and a pair of 10W speakers.
This monitor is designed for gamers who want a large screen, high refresh rate support, and HDR capabilities. While this is not the highest-end gaming monitor on the market, as it features a relatively low number of local dimming zones, and only two HDMI 2.1 ports, this screen has a feature set that will satisfy a lot of gamers. The fact that this is a Gigabyte Gaming monitor and not an Aorus branded monitor suggests that Gigabyte has higher-end large format screens on the horizon.
At this time, Gigabyte has not revealed the pricing of their new S55U gaming screen. More details about this gaming monitor are available on Gigabyte's website.
