Just Cause 3's Multiplayer Mod has made significant progress

 

Significant progress has been made on Just Cause 3's Multiplayer Mod, showcasing parachute and wingsuit synchronisation and the ability to play a multiplayer game for over an hour without crashing. 

In the past, the mod's development team has already shown off on-foot synchronization, PVP combat and the ability for players to interact with other player vehicles, making vehicle surfing a possibility.   

The team behind the mod is also working towards allowing you to change your player model, allowing players to play as characters other than Rico in Multiplayer games and to improve weapon synchronization. Right now the mod is in a fairly playable state, but something that certainly still needs improvement. 

Right now the team is currently developing a server browser for the main menu, making the mod easier to use for future beta releases. When this mod becomes available for public testing users will be required to own Just Cause 3 and all of the game's DLC. 

 

Hello and welcome to this weeks development blog,

This week we want to give you a small insight in our latest testing sessions, which is why we have decided to record some footage of us testing the recent parachute and wingsuit synchronization. The editing and recording took quite a while which is the reason why we had to delay the development blog till today, Monday.

While testing bugs were found which resulted in a lot of bugfixing and trying to minimize crashes. We're slowly getting to a really playable state, as we were able to play for about an hour without a single crash or timeout. For an early development stage as the current one this is quite good.

Furthermore, we have started working on implementing a main menu (server browser, etc.) to the game. This also required changing our CEF implementation to make it safer (e.g. disabling interfering with our client menu by scripts, which is also based on CEF).

 

 

Right now this mod is a pork in progress and is not available to the public, but with such a large improvement in such a small amount of time since Just Cause 3's launch. It is expected that the mod will launch within the next few months, at least in an early access form. 

With the popularity of Just Cause 2's Multiplayer mod it was very surprising to see Just Cause 3 release without any multi-player component, but thankfully it looks like this game will eventually be receiving the Multiplayer mode that it deserves, finally giving GTA online some competition.

considering the game was supposed to be multiplayer its a bit disappointing about the fact it has to be modded in.. BUT i guess some of the foundations are there to work from so makes life easier.

I always find it disappointing that boiling point road to hell never had its promised online patch released. But i guess due to the fact they released it in a horrible mess and the damage was done by the time they patched it, there was no point in doing it.

At least the modders are working on this game, which is more than happened to boiling point, but it would be nice if publishers stopped forcing devs to do what they want instead of what the devs had initially planned.. But i guess thats just how the Tripple A game industry is now.
