Killing Floor 2 System Requirements Revealed

Killing Floor 2 will be hitting Steam Early Access on April 21st, but the question many Killing Floor fans have been asking is can you run it?

The Simple answer for this is yes, if you have a GPU which is in any way considered recent. A lot of this could be put down to the fact that Tripwire Interactive does not consider 30FPS to be adequate, even on the PS4 and have building the game to be able to run at a 60FPS at 1080p on PS4.

"Yeah, we’re fans of the 60 frames per second. We don’t think that a lower frame rate looks more cinematic."

"Our goal is to get to 1080 and 60 frames per second. We can’t guarantee we will hit that goal, but we wanna make the game look as good as possible and try and achieve that goal. We’ll see where we’ll get to and we’ll keep the community informed along the way on where we manage to get"

Killing Floor 2 - Screen Space Reflections Interactive Comparison #3

Killing floor 2 will be released PS4 on PCs on both Linux/SteamOS and Windows Platforms when the game launches later in 2015. PC players will be able to play the game earlier however due to it's availability on Steam Early Access later this month.

It is great to see a developer set a goal of 60FPS from the start, unlike the developers of other titles who tend to just stick to a 30FPS target and later reduced resolution like seen in games like Dead Rising 3 and Assassin's Creed Unity.

If you want to see some recent PC gameplay of this title, i recommend that you watch Totalbiscuit's video on the pre-early access version he played. The game uses Nvidia's GameWorks Library, showing that it can be used top make a game which performs well if it isn't made by Ubisoft.
