Lenovo has revealed a new VR headset prototype with a resolution of 1440x1440 per eye, which is much higher than both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Better still is that this VR headset will have a price tag of under $400, making it a lot less expensive than existing VR offerings.

This headset features a design that is similar to PSVR and is expected to be launched as a Windows 10 VR headset later this year. Lenovo has confirmed that this headset will be Windows Holographic compatible and will not have its own third party controllers.

The final version of this headset is expected to weight around 350g and be ready for room-scale VR, with compatibility with Xbox Controllers on PC and third party controllers that are compatible with the Windows Holographic platform.

Lenovo has not given a name to this VR headset or announced the refresh rates of this headset's displays, though Lenovo has stated that this headset will release in 2017 for under $400.
