LG has now launched their 42.5-inch 4K 43UD79-B FreeSync Monitor, which can display inputs from multiple devices at once.

This display comes with a refresh rate of 60Hz and an undefined FreeSync range (thought to be 56-61Hz based on display’s spec sheet), which combined with this display’s 8ms Grey-To-Grey response time will make this display ill-suited to gamers. This display is intended to be used for productivity, especially by those that will take advantage of Picture-in-Picture mode to control multiple systems at once.

The 43UD79-B will come with four HDMI inputs, two of which are HDMI 2.0 and two which are HDMI 1.4. There is also a single DisplayPort 1.2a input on this display, as well as two USB 3.0 ports.

The LG 43UD79-B will use a IPS panel which is said to support 10-bit colour, though at this time it is unknown if this is a 10-bit panel or a display at is 8-bit and supports 10-bit colour through display dithering to provide 10-bit colour depth.

With Picture in picture mode, this display can be used to display outputs from multiple systems, allowing this large display to be split into up to 4 separate 1080p outputs. This will allow those working with this monitor to easily split this display for optimal workflow.
