Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes for PC Locked at 60fps

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes system requirements released

When it was announced that Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes would be locked to 60FPS on PC the first question we asked ourselves was if this has a large affect on the games system requirements, especially given the difficulty playing certain newer titles at or above 60FPS. Now the minimum system requirements have been announced, and they are not very beefy.

Minimum Specifications:

OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later
Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above
Memory: 4 GB RAM or above
Graphics: GeForce GTX 650 or above
DirectX: Version 11 or above

Recommended Specifications:

OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later
Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above
Memory: 8 GB RAM or above
Graphics: GeForce GTX 760 or above
DirectX: Version 11 or above

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes releases ahead of next year's Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Both will boast 4K support, as well as improved lighting and shadow resolution compared to their console variants.

Isn't this locked at 60fps?

The specifications are pretty much what you'd expect these days. Heck I'd almost bet that those will be the recommended for GTA V.Quote

Yep locked at 60 but there'll be mods out for that I'm guessing Quote

I think specs like these are more what we should expect as you say but it's definitely not the case. I think the fact Dicehunter remarked on how reasonable the specs seem goes to show how absurdly unoptimised a lot of games of late have beenQuote

I wonder if the whole game will speed up, like what happened with NFS and when you removed the 30fps limiter. That'd be a giggle.Quote
