Microsoft confirms that every future Microsoft game will come to PC

In a new blog post about Windows 10's upcoming Anniversary update, Microsoft has confirmed that every future game published by Microsoft Studios will come to PC as well as Xbox One.

This means that future games like Halo 6, which were formerly Xbox One only titles, will be making their way to PC on the Windows 10 store.

  •        With the Xbox Play Anywhere program, you can buy a game once and play on your Windows 10 PC and Xbox One with shared progress, shared game saves and shared achievements.

Every new title published from Microsoft Studios will support Xbox Play Anywhere and will be easily accessible in the Windows Store.

Microsoft confirms that every future Microsoft game will come to PC

While Microsoft has already announced their "Xbox Game Anywhere" program, this is the first time that they have stated that all of their first party IP will be coming to PC as well as Xbox, which is obviously great news for PC gamers.

Below are the first set of games that Microsoft has confirmed to be part of this program, all of which will be exclusively available on the Windows 10 store on PC. This means that all of these games will be UWP applications and likely only work with DX12 compatible hardware.

  • - Forza Horizon 3
  • - Gears of War 4
  • - Halo Wars 2
  • - ReCore
  • - Scalebound
  • - Sea of Thieves
  • - State of Decay 2
  • - We Happy Few

I wish they would just bring the Halo Master Chief Collection to PC, While I enjoyed them for the whole 2 weeks I had the XB1 at times they were painful to play due to the minuscule FOV, Frame dips and general low resolution of the picture.Quote

If we're lucky they might start going backwards in time once they realise that they can capitalize on porting older games Quote

The only reason I own an Xbox One is Halo and Forza Horizon. Having every Halo game playable on the Xbox now thanks to backwards compatibility and the MCC is really, really nice.

With Forza Horizon 3 coming to PC and now all future Halo titles my migration from consoles to PC is almost complete. I'd gladly pay for every Halo game again to run them on PC.

Maybe they'll port the Xbox One's 360 Emulator to Windows? That would go a long way to filling in the blanks as we can already play Halo 1 and 2ish. 3, Reach, Wars and 4 were all on 360. Then we'd just need a port of 5 to be up to date.Quote
