Microsoft have Team Up with Oculus

Oculus will be Teaming up with Microsoft, using the Xbox One Controller be a bundled input method and giving Windows 10 and Xbox One Oculus Support.

The consumer version of the Oculus Rift, the CR1 is bundled with an Xbox One Controller and is designed to run natively with Windows 10 and allow Xbox One Games to Be streamed to the headset.

Microsoft Team Up with Oculus

Microsoft has decided not to develop their own VR headset to compete with Sony's Morpheus and instead have been working with Oculus to bring their platform to Windows 10 and Xbox One. Oculus get's easy integration into the Windows and Xbox Platforms and Microsoft gets to be the Rift's chosen controller and does not have to invest in developing their own VR solution.

All in all this deal is a win win situation for both companies, with Oculus integrating itself more easily into the PC and Xbox Platforms and Microsoft giving us yet another reason to own an Xbox One and a Windows 10 based PC.

It's good they are teaming up together. It's cheaper for both companies and makes it more simple for the consumers and less hassle with downloading all that software since I would assume MS will have a driver made for the Oculus so it's plug and play. I think that would be cool, don't know if it is feasible though.Quote

Plus they are now a direct competitor to that VR thing Sony was working on which can only be good for consumers Quote

I'm happy MS chose to endorse Oculus for VR rather than trying to roll their own thing, hopefully more promise.Quote
