MSI's Optix MAG161 screens offer sub-1KG portability with refresh rates as high as 240Hz - CES 2020
At CES 2020, MSI has revealed its Optix MAG161 series of portable monitors, showcasing high-quality Full HD IPS panels, a sub-1KG mass and support for both HDMI and USB Type-C inputs. This screen even supports AMD's FreeSync technology.
While MSI is pushing the MAG161 series' high-end gaming models, it is worth noting that the MAG161 series is a series. There's more than one model of this screen on show. One of these models is the Optix MAG161V, MSI's value-oriented display model. This variant focuses on users who require a lightweight, portable screen without the 240Hz pro gaming flash of MSI's highest-end model. The Optix MAG161V is for productivity and media, though it can game if you aren't focused on 60+ Hz refresh rates.
All models in MSI's Optix MAG161 series come with two integrated speakers, a slim 5.1mm profile and easy to use controls for brightness, volume and other settings adjustments. Each Optix MAG161 screen also comes with a smart case, which protects the screen while in transit and allows users to stand their monitor at their preferred viewing angle easily.
At this time, MSI has not announced when its Optix MAG161 series of monitors will become available at retailers, or the price tags of each monitor in the series. Hopefully, we will learn more when we visit MSI at CES 2020.
