Here is some 60FPS Gameplay for the upcoming PC version of Need for Speed, a game which will launch with Manual transmission support at launch, which is much better than Microsoft's upcoming Forza 6: Apex for PC.

Below is some footage that has been recorded by the YouTuber BlackPanthaa, showcasing the game at a steady 60FPS at 1080p, saying that it has made the game much smoother and much more satisfying to play.

In my opinion I believe that EA has made huge progress when it comes to giving us PC system requirements, at least for this title. With Need for Speed the developers did not just release a set of requirements for the game, but they also tell us the settings, resolution and framerate that they expect these system specs to run at, which very useful information to have.

Here we can see that a CPU with 4 threads and a GTX 750Ti or a HD 7850 can be expected to run at 720p 30FPS and a higher end system with a GTX 970 or an R9 290 can be expected to run at 1080p 60 at high settings.

Sadly it seems that this game is going to be very demanding, needing a GTX 970 or an R9 290 for playing this game at a resolution of 1080p. With these specifications I think that it is safe to say that this game will not run very well at higher resolutions on current hardware, especially at 4K.

Minimum Requirements for 720p30 at low settings:

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-4130 or equivalent with 4 hardware threads
  • Memory: 6GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB, AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB, or equivalent DX11 compatible GPU with 2GB of memory
  • Hard Drive: 30 GB free space

Recommended Requirements for 1080p60 at high settings:

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4690 or equivalent with 4 hardware threads
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB, AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB, or equivalent DX11 compatible GPU with 4GB of memory
  • Hard Drive: 30 GB free space

We also have a list of supported steering wheels for the PC platform.

  • - Logitech G27
  • - Logitech G29
  • - Logitech G920
  • - Thrustmaster TX
  • - Thrustmaster T150
  • - Thrustmaster T300
  • - Thrustmaster T500
  • - Fanatec CSR

compatible GPU with 4GB of memory
Does that seem quite a bit for 1080p or is it just me? I'm guessing they're playing it on the safe side but still...Quote
