A Swedish retailer has stated that they will be shipping their first GTX 1080M based laptops on July 29th, with their second shipment of GTX 1080M GPUs expected on August 12th.

Right now the specifications of this GPU are unknown, but if the retail listing is to be believed the GPU will come with 8GB of GDDR5 memory instead of the GDDR5X like the GTX 1080's desktop SKU.

Being a GTX M series GPU the GTX 1080M is expected to use a cut-down version of Nvidia's GTX 1080 GPU core and use lower clock speeds in order to deliver optimum performance per watt and run with a lower TDP.

Right now Nvidia has not revealed their Mobile Pascal GPU lineup, instead focusing on the consumer desktop GPU market. Hopefully, mobile Pascal GPUs will allow lower end gaming laptops to be VR ready, as right now very few gaming laptops offer that kind of GPU performance.
