Nvidia's upcoming killer-GPU, the GTX 980 Ti, has been officially confirmed to launch on Tuesday the 2nd of June. The launch will take place during the Computex show in Taipei. Nvidia is supposedly hosting a huge event during the conference, to showcase their high-end video card. The 980 Ti will be shown off during the event, and it will all be live streamed via Twitch.

The GTX 980 Ti will reportedly be based on their new GM200 GPU. The SKU is specifically codenamed GM200-310, a less-powerful version of the GPU in the Titan X. More specific specifications were leaked recently. You can check out the leaked specifications here. If you haven't seen them yet, let me spoil a bit: the card is rumoured to have 6GB of GDDR5 memory, running on a 384-bit memory bus. The card will feature 2816 CUDA Cores and sport a Core clock of 1002 MHz. All this should deliver performance similar to Nvidia's flagship GPU: the Titan X, but cost less.

The latest info suggests a price between $699 and $749, but it's not been officially announced. You can expect an official price on the 2nd of June Quote

They would do that. AMD was rumored to launch that same day but later switched the launch date to E3. Nvidia saw the opportunity to grab everyone's money before AMD launch.Quote
