Nvidia officially confirms their new RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti variants

Nvidia has just revealed two new RTX 30 series graphics cards

With the release of the company's new Geforce 526.47 GPU drivers, Nvidia confirmed that they have launched two new RTX 30 series products, a GDDR6X powered RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards and an 8GB RTX 3060.

These two new graphics cards should be available soon from retailers, with the new RTX 3060 Ti model offering users a significant boost in memory bandwidth while the new RTX 3060 model features 4GB less GDDR6 memory (8GB VS 12GB), and a 33% reduction in available memory bandwidth. Nvidia's new RTX 3060 Ti is faster than standard models, and Nvidia's new RTX 3060 8GB is slower than its 12GB counterpart.

Below is what Nvidia had to say about these two new RTX 30 series graphics cards.

Additional Versions Of GeForce RTX 3060 Ti & 3060

To give more choices to gamers and creators, we’re introducing a couple of additional options from our network of graphics card partners worldwide, starting in November.

First is a faster GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6X memory, in addition to the original version with GDDR6 memory. Second is a GeForce RTX 3060 with 8GB of GDDR6 memory.

Both new options are supported starting with today’s Game Ready Driver. For more details on each option, visit the GeForce RTX 3060 family product page on GeForce.com.

Nvidia officially confirms their new RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti variants

While it is strange to see Nvidia release new RTX 30 series products after their RTX 40 series launch, the launch of Nvidia's new RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti models nonetheless give consumers more options within the lower-end of the GPU market. Nvidia plans to launch their RTX 4080 16GB graphics card this month, and it will be a long time before Nvidia is ready to replace their RTX 3060 and RTX 3060 Ti with RTX 40 series replacements.

Looking at how 30 series prices have gone up since the 40 launch I would say they are far from that.

It's like BITD when people used to criticise Apple and say how they would go out of business etc.

I mean don't get me wrong I absolutely detest Nvidia, but that foot still hasn't gone in the wrong place.Quote
