Nvidia reveals and gives away 32GB Titan V “CEO Edition” GPUs

Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang has officially revealed the company’s Titan V CEO edition graphics card at the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Conference at Salt Lake City in the US, simultaneously giving away 20 of these “limited edition graphics” cards to randomly selected attendees.

These graphics cards are not standard Titan V series GPUs, offering an over 2x more VRAM and a fully enabled memory controller to deliver increased memory bandwidth and a higher ROP count. Both of these changes will help accelerate specific workloads, making this graphics card more like a Tesla V100 than a Titan V.

Right now this new graphics SKU is now available for purchase, which means that some of the specifications of the graphics card remain unknown, though Nvidia lists increased Tensor performance when compared to the standard Titan V, suggesting that more has changed under the hood than meets the eye. Nvidia has either activated more SM units or has increased the Titan V’s clock speeds.

Nvidia reveals and gives away 32GB Titan V

Today’s Titan V costs around $2,999 and £2700 in the US and UK respectively, which implies that Nvidia’s CEO edition will end up costing a lot more if it ever hits retail, thanks to the new SKU’s increased HBM2 memory capacity and other performance/specifications tweaks.

It is likely that the Titan V “CEO Edition” or a similar SKU will see a wider release in the near-mid-term future, as it would be extremely unusual for Nvidia to create 20 unique graphics cards that have no significance on their business.
