Nvidia's latest GPU drivers are ready for the Geforce RTX 4080 and the latest PC games

Nvidia has just launched their new Geforce 526.98 WHQL drivers for Windows PCs, adding support for their new RTX 4080 graphics cards  while also adding "Game Ready" optimisations for Warhammer 40,000; Darktide, Spider-Man Miles Morales, and Monster Hunter Rise's DLAA update.

With this new driver, Nvidia has also introduced official support for the HDR 10+ Gaming standard and support for DLSS Frame Generation (DLSS 3) for V-Sync when G-Sync is enabled. Additionally, this new driver also introduces several bug fixes that make Nvidia's latest Geforce drivers more stable.

Game Ready

This new Game Ready Driver provides the best day-0 gaming experience for the latest new games supporting NVIDIA DLSS 3 technology including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Warhammer 40,0000: Darktide, and the new update for WRC Generations – The FIA WRC Official Game. Additionally, this Game Ready Driver supports the launch of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight and the addition of DLAA technology to Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

Open Issues in Version 526.98 WHQL

As with every released driver, version 526.98 WHQL of the Release 525 driver has open issues and enhancement requests associated with it. This section includes lists of issues that are either not fixed or not implemented in this version. Some problems listed may not have been thoroughly investigated and, in fact, may not be NVIDIA issues. Others may have workaround solutions.

- Toggling HDR on and off in-game causes game stability issues when non-native resolution is used. [3624030]
- [DirectX 12] Shadowplay recordings may appear over exposed when Use HDR is enabled from the Windows display settings. [200742937]
- Older versions of Minecraft Java Edition show corruption on screen [3870232]
- MSI Afterburner is not prioritizing GPU temp limit over power when selected in app [3858911]
- [RTX 40 series] Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition may show random screen flash during gameplay [3793355]
- [GeForce RTX 4090] Watch Dogs 2 may display flickering when staring at the sky [3858016]
- Monitor may briefly flicker on waking from display sleep if DSR/DLDSR is enabled. [3592260]
