Nvidia's RTX 4080 is now available - Here's its UK pricing
Nvidia's RTX 4080 has a pricing problem

Nvidia's RTX 4080 can cost as much as £1650 in the UK
Nvidia's RTX 4080 graphics cards are now available to purchase in the UK, and they are expensive. Custom, non Founders Edition RTX 4080 graphics cards are priced between £1299.99 and £1649.99 in the UK, making premium RTX 4080 graphics cards just £50 cheaper than entry-level RTX 4090 graphics cards.
Looking at prices from Overclockers UK, we can see that most RTX 4080 prices sit below the £1399.99 price barrier, with higher prices coming from high-end models like Gigabyte's RTX 4080 Gaming OC (£1469.99), ASUS' RTX 4080 TUF Gaming (£1439.99), and ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4080 OC (£1649.99). These prices are all more than double Nvidia's £649.99 MSRP for their RTX 3080 10GB Founders Edition graphics card.
While Nvidia's RTX 4080 16GB graphics cards all offer strong levels of performance, their pricing and value proposition are questionable. If we are honest, Nvidia should have called a graphics card with this price point their RTX 4080 Ti, that would have made Nvidia's pricing seem a little more reasonable, and even then these prices would be considered overly high by consumers.
With Nvidia's RTX 3080 10GB launching with an MSRP of £649 for their Founders Edition model, Nvidia should be fully aware of how today's RTX 4060 prices will be seen by consumers. This is especially true now that AMD has revealed their $999 RX 7900 XTX.
