Planet Coaster will be coming to Steam exclusively on August 23rd

Steamworks and Steam Workshop support will be added to Planet Coaster's upcoming Alpha 3, which will arrive on Steam on August 23rd. This will make the game a Steam exclusive title, but makes it exceptionally easy for players to access game mods and other community made content from the Steam Workshop.

Planet Coaster is a new game from Frontier Developments, the creators of Elite Dangerous, with Planet Coaster seemingly trying to create a modern theme park builder which plans to impact this genre in the same way that Cities Skylines hit the City Builder genre in 2015.

Players of the current Alpha 2 build of Planet Coaster will need to have a Steam Account in order to access Alpha build 3, though all current owners/backers of the game will be receiving a Steam copy of the game Free of charge.

The current Alpha version of the game will be close to new players on August 25th, with the Alpha 2 version of the game closing completely when the game enters its beta phase.

Great decision from frontier, steam's workshop for mods is about the best thing there is, esp for sandbox creativity games.Quote
