PowerColor shows off Radeon R9 390X DEVIL
PowerColor shows off their Radeon R9 390X DEVIL GPU, but be warned, the R9 390X is not an AMD Fiji GPU, but an R9 290X rebrand. AMD's Fiji GPU, with all new HBM memory, is rumored to be named the AMD FURY X and will come with an AMD watercooler.
PowerColor's R9 390X comes with a hybrid cooler, which uses both air and water cooling methods. The GPU core will be cooled by an AIO watercooler and the GPU VRM and other power circuitry will be cooled using the rear fan.
The GPU will be powered by an 8-pin and a 6-pin PCIe power and AIO watercooler on the GPU core will be cooled by a thin 120mm radiator. The card sports a very nice looking backplate and has a black, red and silver design.
Personally I do not like the sliver on this card, I would prefer a darker black nickel colouring, but this is not a final production model and the design may change slightly before launch.
Right now rumors suggest that all the R9 390X's will come with 8GB of VRAM, but the GPU cores will be the same R9 290X that is on the market today.
Hopefully some manufacturers will update their cooling methods, as there are more than a few R9 290X ran very hot and loud (an I don't mean just reference designs).
