Quantum Break PC System Requirements Revealed - DX12 Only

The PC system requirements for Quantum Break have been revealed, recommending an AMD R9 Fury X or an Nvidia GTX 980Ti. The game will only support the DirectX 12 API, meaning that only newer GPU form both AMD and Nvidia will be supported.

The game is stated to require a minimum of an AMD Hex core Piledriver CPU or a minimum of an Intel Haswell i5 CPU, meaning that gamers will need a lot of CPU computing power in order to play this game. The game will also require a minimum of 8GB of system memory and 2GB of VRAM.

The game will be around 55GB in size and at the high end will require today's flagship GPUs, the GTX 980Ti and the R9 Fury X, meaning that this game is going to be very demanding, especially at high resolutions.

This is the highest recommended specifications for a game that we have ever seen at OC3D, being seeming almost Crysis like in terms of requires specifications.

It's looking more and more like 980's and Fury's are just not up to snuff for anything higher than 1080p any more. And the 380X was marketed as a 1440p card. Maybe for MOBA's, but how many gamers are buying 1440p panels for DOTA 2? I imagine there are a few, but not many.Quote

I whole heartedly disagree. Especially since 1440p isn't as common as you think. Just look on the steam results..1080p is still the most commonQuote

Did I miss something? Did he not say that 1440 wasn't that popular?

But back on point, it is nice to see such demanding spec. Question is, is it down to needing the power or just poor optimisation? Only time will tell.Quote
