Quantum Break PC System Requirements Updated - DX12 Only

The PC system requirements for Quantum Break have been revealed, recommending an AMD R9 Fury X or an Nvidia GTX 980Ti for Ultra settings. The game will only support the DirectX 12 API, meaning that only newer GPU form both AMD and Nvidia will be supported.

The game is stated to require a minimum of an AMD Hex core Piledriver CPU or a minimum of an Intel Haswell i5 CPU, meaning that gamers will need a lot of CPU computing power in order to play this game. The game will also require a minimum of 8GB of system memory and 2GB of VRAM.

In the mid way recommended specifications the game now recommends a higher clocked Intel Haswell i5 or it's AMD equivalent and GPUS with at least 4GB of VRAM, like the GTX 970 or the R9 390.

The game will be around 55GB in size and at the high end will require today's flagship GPUs, the GTX 980Ti and the R9 Fury X when playing the game at the highest settings, meaning that this game is going to be very demanding, especially at high resolutions.

This is the highest recommended specifications for a game that we have ever seen at OC3D, being seeming almost Crysis like in terms of required specifications.

The Fury/980Ti recommendations were presumably for 1440p and not 1080p.Quote

Pretty much. It is a shame the devs did not make it clear from the start.

This is why specs need to come with settings, resolution and framerate.Quote

Developers are clearly using inflated settings to try and keep their requirements relevant with todays PC hardware. They need to be more specific in stating what resolution and framerate they are talking about because is Ultra 60 fps 1080p or 120fps 2560?Quote

I never understood why developers didn't specify more details regarding the recommend specifications.Quote

Embarrassingly I hadn't heard of this game before the PC announcement so I'll make sure to read up on it. So another game requiring better stuff than I have ha ha. A worthy Pascal better be here sooner rather than later.Quote
