Resident Evil 2 remastered in Unreal Engine 4

With game engines becoming  easily accessible to modders and other members of the public, modern remakes of classic games are slowly becoming the norm, with the release of Black Mesa and Renegade X already being available to play.

Today we have found a Unreal Engine 4 remaster of Resident Evil 2, a not-for-profit project which is brought to us be Italian Indie developer Invader Games. Below is a 10 minute gameplay video of the community made remaster.

Invader Games has created this mod using new 3D models, textures, particle effects, lighting and even more, making this a very labor intensive project. The gameplay shown is very impressive, but right now it is unknown how Capcom will react to this, as they have already made HD versions of other Resident Evil games, with more presumably on the cards.

When I saw this last night on Failbook I was excited to say the least, but, I couldn't bare it after just 5 minutes... have we learned nothing about Zombie lore and will someone please get Leon some decent footwear it still sounds like he's wearing Cuban heals with cleats nailed on it was one of my bugbears in the original game. Randomly emptying half a clip into a zombie before they drop HEADSHOTS!! FGS, 2 other things that would have made this superb would have been improved character movement and 1st person option. Other than that it's a grand effort by the creator just a shame Capcom will impose cease and desist notices.Quote

im not 100% on this one due to it looking a lot more like resident evil 4 rather than resident evil 2.. i liked res 1 remake because it was basically res 1 that just looked better and the also used the better version of it not the poopy one we got on play station "although even that was a great game, and much better than resident evil 4"Quote

Looks very clunky from the game play, which is to be expected, being a re-master and all.Quote
