Rise of the Tomb Raider's PC release date has been officially announced to be January 28th, with the PS4 version still slated for a "Holiday 2016" release.  The game will be available on the Windows 10 store, Steam and through the Square Enix store.

Below is a statement from Scot Amos, the head of Crystal Dynamics.

The PC release of Rise of the Tomb Raider continues the positive momentum from our highly successful partnership and collaboration with Microsoft for the launch on Xbox One and Xbox 360,

Below are the minimum requirements for the game, confirming that that game will not be locked to Windows 10 and will be fairly easy to run.

MINIMUM:

    • OS: Windows 7 64bit
    • Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
    • Memory: 6 GB RAM
    • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB or AMD HD7770 2GB
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 25 GB available space

The game will be using the latest version of AMD's TressFX, giving the game more natural looking hair with a lesser performance hit when compared to the first iteration that was used in Tomb Raider.

Rise of the Tomb Raider reviewed very well when the game was originally release on the Xbox One last year, but had problems selling in large numbers due to launching on the same date as Fallout 4, one of the most popular releases or recent months.

I could quite easily get myself banned by using many expletives over just how excited I am about this game. I won't though.

I asked my lady to buy me Star Wars for my impending birthday but sadly it's rubbish. So I instead asked her to get me this. It comes out three days after my birthday, so almost perfect.

I could kiss the ********.
