Samsung delays Galaxy Note 7 shipments over alleged "explosion" fears

Samsung has delayed shipments of their Galaxy Note 7 smartphone shipments over alleged "explosion" concerns. Samsung's share prices fell 2% yesterday as a result.

At this time Samsung has not given any official reason for this delay, instead merely stating that they will be conducting additional quality assurance inspections. Below is Samsung's official response to the BBC.

Shipments of the Galaxy Note 7 are being temporarily delayed for additional quality assurance inspections.

Now several sources have produced pictures and videos of Galaxy Note 7 Mobile phones catching fire while charging or shortly after the charger is removed, suggesting hat some handsets may have faulty batteries or other components. To say the least, this kind of fault is very dangerous, making Samsung's delay a must for the company to protect both themselves and consumers.
