Star Wars 1313 may not be dead

 

Star Wars 1313 was one of the best looking Star Wars games that was being worked on when Star Wars was bought by Disney, but it looks like the project may be revived as Lucasfilm says that they want to explore and develop on the ideas behind some of these canceled projects. 

 

“Our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, poring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further,” “We definitely want to.”

 

Star Wars 1313 was certainly going to be one of the most interesting Star Wars games of it’s time, focusing on a character who is not a Jedi and looking into a darker corner of the Star Wars Universe. 

In the game you filled the Mandalorian Helmet of Boba Fett, hunting the worst of the criminal scum that inhabit the lower levels of the Galactic Capital Coruscant. Graphically speaking the original trailers for the game still look great by today’s standards, which is very impressive for a game which was confirmed to have been abandoned in 2013.

 

 

To be completely honest a statement that they are looking into the older cancelled Star Wars projects is not a confirmation that Star Wars 1313 will be making a comeback, but perhaps it will prompt EA, the holder of the Video Game Licence for Star Wars to kickstart some games which hold these interesting concepts at their core. 

The Star Wars Universe is not just about the Jedi, the Sith and Storm Troopers, but it about the Rebels, the Scoundrels  and much much more. 

There is a lot to explore in the Star Wars universe and hopefully something good games that will highlight this. Star Wars Battlefront is considered by many to be a game which is graphically impressive, runs very well on a wide range of hardware but ultimately lacks the depth and longevity that will keep Star Wars or shooter fans interested in the long term, hopefully lessons will be learned here and some deeper, story driver gaming experiences can be delivered in the future.
