Star Wars Battlefront Gameplay Trailer

At EA's E3 press conference Star Wars had a huge showing, from new Expansion content for the MMO, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic to Star Wars Battlefront, a game which I'm sure many of you have been looking forward to for many years.

The gameplay shown takes place at the Battle of Hoth, and is supposedly gameplay footage which was captured from a PS4 console. This Gameplay Trailer, titled "Walker Assault", shows over 5 minutes of footage, which shows vehicle play, 1st and 3rd person infantry gameplay and even some piloting sequences on a X-Wing, Tie Fighter and a Snowspeeder.

As a Star Wars fan, and a long running fan of the Star Wars Battlefront series all I can say about this trailer is that it feels authentic, both to the Battlefront series and to Star Wars itself. Many of us have feared that Battlefront would have turned into Battlefield, but right now this does not seem to be the case.

In terms of visuals this game is beautiful, though like all E3 footage it should not be considered as representative of the final product.

In Battlefront you can battle with between 8 and 40 players on a map. Vehicles, infantry and aircraft will be fighting for dominance on the Battlefield, though even with the increased number of Aircraft in the game it still maintains that Battlefront feel that only fans of the series will know. Looking at how each of the vehicles controlled, how a Snowspeeder tripped up an AT-AT and even how a weapon recoiled reminded me of the previous Battlefront games, which is a high praise indeed from this series veteran

Star Wars Battlefront will be releasing on PS4, PC and Xbox One on November 17th 2015.

Actually quite disappointed by the trailer and yet again by Dice.

It's like they actually try to make every game they work on look and sound like the Battlefield games, and I am fairly confident enough to say that it will have all the same problems with hit reg, lag etc that Battlefield 3, 4 and Hardline suffer from that have still not been resolved.

I won't be buying this until I see it running and try it first, until then it will remain on my "Do Not Buy" list with a few other games.

It does look good but after buying 3 games with Dice being involved/developing and all 3 of them still being basically unplayable to this day I just cannot bring myself to pre-order it or say I will buy it.Quote

Looks awful thus far. I know its just a demo but it looks waay too much like its on rails/a corridor shooter.Quote

The AT-AT is on rails, which is a bit disspointing, but I don't really see how the game in general is. Perhaps the demo looked that way because they wanted to make it "cinematic", but I imagine that its more vertical and free when you actually play it.Quote
