Star Wars: Battlefront System Requirements

EA has just released the system requirements for Star Wars: Battlefront, revealing that the install size will be 40GB and that the game will require 8GB of system memory minimum.

Looking that the game's minimum and recommended specs we can see that this game will be pretty demanding, requiring a minimum of 8GB of system memory and at a minimum a Intel i3 6300T or equivalent CPU, which is a new Intel Skylake CPU.

Sadly EA have not provided any minimum or recommended requirements for AMD CPUs, but hopefully the title will run well on them.

Moving up to the recommended requirements we can see that EA recommend an i5 6600 Skylake CPU, Windows 10, 16GB of System memory and a GTX 970 or AMD R9 290 GPU.

Minimum PC System Requirements

OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
Processor (Intel): Intel i3 6300T or equivalent
Memory: 8GB RAM
Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
Graphics card (ATI): ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB
DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent
Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection

Recommended PC System Requirements

OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or later
Processor (Intel): Intel i5 6600 or equivalent
Memory: 16GB RAM
Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB
Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB
DirectX: 11.1 Compatible video card or equivalent
Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection

it is a shame that EA has not told us how the game is expected to run in these configurations, or on what settings, but it looks like Battlefront is going to be a very demanding title.

An i3 Skylake as minimum ? Seems very odd considering gaming wise there isn't much between Ivybridge, Haswell and Skylake and it's odd that a CPU that literally just came out is the bare minimum

Must be a marketing strategy between them and Intel.Quote

So won't run on 32 bit operating systems? Must exclude a huge number of potential players.Quote

Unfortunately I can't run it because it doesn't have a server browser. I skipped on BF3 and BF4 for the same reason and I'm gonna skip this one as well. A multiplayer game absolutely, positively MUST HAVE an in-game server browser for me to even consider purchasing it.Quote

Not really, PC gamers will mostly be running on Windows 7 64-bit and above.

16GB recommended is a bit high though.

Remember that the most recent steam survey almost has windows 10 64-bit use at 25% for PC gamers.Quote
